  checkout Dell's 2300mp It's 2300 lumens and very portable.
  You can find it for around a $1000 if you shop it online.

  make sure it has a good warranty. Also, I was able to insure mine through my auto insurance for $25 a year (where I live anyway), so that if it gets stolen or it drops and breaks, it's covered. I feel a lot less nervous about my gear now.
